Cameroon
The new man in charge of Cameroon’s national team has expressed dissatisfaction with the outcome of his first game.
Although Cameroon came back twice from behind to deprive South Africa of victory on Saturday, Hugo Broos said the players could have done better.
“We are not satisfied, that’s obvious. we were playing at home and we wanted to win this game. On the other side, I always said I never understood why South Africa is last in our group. This is a very good team but we have to look at ourselves. But it must be said that for some players it was not enough today. It was a very difficult match,” he said.
The result puts the Indomitable Lions a point above Mauritania at the top of Group M.
According to South Africa coach, Ephraim Mashaba: “Either us or Cameroon had expected to win this game but tactically i think we had an edge above the Cameroonians though they played good football. We had strong points they couldnt deal with and they had strong points we couldnt deal with.”
Bafana Bafana, who are placed third, will host the Indomitable Lions at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Tuesday.
